  Agostinho J. Ribeiro
Agostinho J. Ribeiro was born in New York City, to Portuguese immigrants, Agostinho and Maria Ribeiro. He moved to New Milford, Connecticut at the age of twelve and attended New Milford High School. He attended the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA (B.A.) and received his Law Degree from New York Law School, in New York, NY.


Attorney Ribeiro joined the law firm of Americo S. Ventura in 1989. Together they formed a partnership in 1991, which today is known as Ventura, Ribeiro & Smith. Attorney Ribeiro, a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, specializes in civil litigation and currently serves as a member on the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Legislative Committee.


In 1992, Attorney Ribeiro opened a branch office in the World Trade Center in New York City, where he concentrated on Federal Court litigation. After September 11, 2001, Attorney Ribeiro and the law firm represented, pro bono, victims of the World Trade Center disaster. The law firm was nationally honored for its volunteer efforts in this regard.


Attorney Ribeiro was one of the founders of the Portuguese Cultural Center in Danbury, Connecticut and he served as its first President. Today Attorney Ribeiro sits on the Board of Trustees of the Portuguese Cultural Center.


Attorney Ribeiro, who speaks fluent Portuguese and Spanish, believes in Danbury and especially in working with and supporting the ethnically diverse population in the Downtown Danbury area. As managing partner, Attorney Ribeiro just recently relocated his law firm, which now consists of ten lawyers and forty employees, to 235 Main Street, Danbury.
