Michael Tortora is a trial attorney with Ventura, Ribeiro & Smith where he concentrates in Personal Injury Litigation.

Early in his career, Attorney Tortora obtained trial experience while handling defense cases for Allstate Insurance Company. He then opened his own practice in Fairfield, Connecticut, the Law Offices of Michael Tortora, LLC, where he specialized in all areas of personal injury, including plaintiff and defense work, as well as Criminal Defense. During this time, he also served as a Special Public Defender for the State of Connecticut in the Norwalk and Bridgeport Superior Courts. Subsequently, Attorney Tortora joined the Law Firm of Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker LLP, a large nationally known civil defense firm located in Stamford, Connecticut, where he served as a Senior Trial Attorney and defended clients of large Fortune 500 companies, as well as clients of large nationally known insurance company. Attorney Tortora has extensive trial experience representing injured individuals and brings to his clients the knowledge of knowing what his opponent's strategy will be from his years of defense work. He has also successfully argued before the Connecticut Appellate Court.

Michael Tortora was recently Board Certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.  This distinguished honor is only given to attorneys who have proven through their trial experience and accomplishment that they are worthy of the title. Attorney Tortora is also a certified advocate by the National Board of Civil Pretrial Practice Advocacy.
